To be considered for permanent Food & Nutrition Service positions, applicant must be in the Food & Nutrition Service substitute pool or a current employee.
ASSIGNMENT: These positions are part-time for on-call or as needed workers at the central production kitchen or school kitchen locations. Substitutes perform duties required for production and serving of meals to students in order to support the nutrition program offered to the students and staff of the Kent School District.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must have the ability to maintain accurate records and handle cash receipts.
- Must have the ability to work with a variety of students and other employees.
- Must have the ability to work in a team setting with the desire to enhance good working relationships.
- Must have strong customer service, communication skills, and willingness to work with students and other employees.
- Must be flexible, have dependable transportation and willing to work wherever needed.
- Previous food service experience preferred but not required.
- Requires current Food Handler’s Permit. Testing for the health card is on line at the King County Department of Health www.foodworkercard.wa.gov
Must provide two letters of recommendation to be considered for an interview.
WORKING CONDITIONS: This work requires standing, walking and occasional sitting, some over the head and shoulder lifting, repetitive motions, repetitive lifting of up to 40 pounds, working on wet or slippery floors, bending, pushing, pulling, stretching and working with various machinery and cleaning chemicals, some exposure to a visual terminal and occasional exposure to cold or hot temperatures.
