A FRC Team Advisor will:
- Enforce and monitor safety during all FRC events
- Supervise students using equipment and machinery
- Work with and recruit volunteers to help coach the team during build season
- Inspire, motivate, and engage students in science and technology
- Create open communication within the team
- Maintain process focus
- Allow students to do as much work as possible
- Show trust in, and respect for, every team member and his/her ideas
- Encourage students to take risks and invent
- Encourage accountability
- Work with the First Washington office to manage deadlines and requirements for competition eligibility
- Manage team accounts, budget, and fundraise for events
- Work with the CTE office to complete and submit required paperwork (field trip, excursion, building use, etc.)
Time commitment: Meet with the team several times per week (including some weekends and evenings) during the build and competition season (January – April).
